This weeks thoughts:
Hello!! I’m currently going through a writing slump so I decided to go for a lil different approach this week, and give you guys a round up of links to current world news.
USA 🇺🇸: Donald Trump handed himself in at a jail in Georgia after being arrested over charges to overturn the states 2020 election.
Russia 🇷🇺: Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin reportedly died in a plane crash on Wednesday evening, two months after he lead the failed mutiny against Putin.
Australia 🖤💛❤️: Voice to Parliament referendum booklets are landing in mailboxes as Australians approach casting their vote. Even though some of us can’t vote, I think it’s important as young people to do a bit of research into it and have conversations around what it means so I have linked a guide to the Indigenous Voice To Parliament.
Spain 🇪🇸: After Spain won the Women’s World Cup, FIFA has provisionally suspended Spanish Football president Luis Rubiales after he kissed player Jenni Hermoso on the lips without consent.
Japan 🇯🇵: After runing out of storage, the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) will start releasing relatively small amounts of treated waste water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean over 30 years.
India 🇮🇳: India’s spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 has become the first of any country to sucessfully land on the moon’s south pole where it will now spend two weeks helping scientists search and gather data about frozen water in the region.
P.S. I’m so sorry if this was a bit content heavy, I’m a bit lost as to what to write abt so pls reply if you would like smth like this more often or if you have ideas for an upcoming newsletter topic 🙃.
Side note of smth fun I found on the internet:
So off the back of the Barbie hype, I stumbled across this website called BaiRBIE.me where you can upload a picture of yourself (or celebs like I did) and see what your barbie doll would look like 🎀.
Hope you have an informed week

I think we risk becoming the best informed society that has ever died of ignorance.
